American Discovery Trail Marathon 2019 in Colorado Springs

Perhaps you prefer enjoying the thrill of a race from the sidelines, cheering on the participants. Whether you prefer to run or watch, you don’t want to miss the American Discovery Trail (ADT) Races in beautiful Colorado Springs, CO on Labor Day, Monday, September 2, 2019.

These races offer flat, fast courses along mostly hard-packed dirt trails with some asphalt and incredible scenic views. Runners will receive a tech tee, a finisher medal, and be able to enjoy the Labor Day post-race party for some live music, good food, and cold beer.

The Marathon
The ADT Marathon, a certified, point-to-point, Boston qualifying event, is celebrating its 19th year and is recognized as a premier race event by both local and out-of-state runners. Beginning at 6:30am at Palmer Lake, 26 miles north of Colorado Springs, runners will head down the American Discovery Trail (Santa Fe Trail) and finish at America the Beautiful Park. This rare downhill course, which begins at 7,225’ elevation and ends around 6,040’, follows Fountain Creek and provides seemingly endless, stunning views of Pikes Peak and the Front Range. Be sure to save some time to explore the Colorado Springs portion of the American Discovery Trail. This non-motorized national trail begins at the Cape Henlopen State Park in Delaware and runs 6,800+ continuous miles west to Pt. Reyes National Seashore in California, crossing cities, small towns, forests, deserts and mountains. Split into four regions (Eastern, Central-Northern, Central Southern, and Western), the Colorado Springs portion is located in the Central-Southern Route’s Front Range segment. Highlights include Cripple Creek (world’s greatest gold camp), Garden of the Gods, Pikes Peak Greenway, US Air Force Academy, and Platte River Greenway.
