Ruxton Avenue, named after Scottish adventurer Fredrick Ruxton, is the route to the Cog Railway Station as well as the Barr Trail Trailhead leading to the summit of Pikes Peak. Our Ruxton Room is encompassed by all natural richly hewed cherry wood bead board walls and ceiling. This room is often the “gentlemen’s choice” because its clean lines preserve the sophistication of this 1886 Colorado bed and breakfast without the fluff. The Ruxton is a large room with two walls banked by windows that bathe the wood with warm shades of sunlight. When the Colorado evenings turn cool, you can cozy up to the electric stove with the ambiance of flickering firelight. The Ruxton is furnished with a king size iron bed covered in distinctive green stripe satin spreads. Relax in a spacious seating area with two large burgandy wing back chairs, a walnut end table with reading lamp. The large open adjoining private bath with shower offers all the necessities and features a claw-foot tub for your enjoyment. Comfy terry robes hang on the bath door to wrap yourself up and leisurely prepare for the day.
