There are so many different events going on for Labor Day weekend! It is time to enjoy the last long weekend of summer with three wonderful events happening around the area this weekend.
The 38th annual Commonwheel Artists Labor Day Arts and Crafts Festival runs all weekend, September 1, 2, and 3 from 10am to 5 pm.
Admission is FREE!
There are approximately 110 artists all chosen from a jury of professional artists. There will be live entertainment, food, kids’ art activities, and prizes. It’s a wonderful event for the whole family. It’s down in Manitou’s Memorial Park. This is one of the best places to find high quality art on the Front Range (Don’t forget! It will be a great place to look for unique Christmas presents!) Check out the website for more details.
Every year during Labor Day Weekend we are enchanted by the Colorado Balloon Classic.
It is so much fun to see the brightly colored floating spots all weekend. This seems to be a favorite among locals and has become part of the Labor Day weekend tradition.
This is the 36th annual classic and Colorado’s largest air show. And addmission is free! Children just love this event. It can be viewed throughout most of the city but Memorial Park in Colorado Springs is where the balloons take off. Check out their website for more details.
The 4th Annual Native American Day is held at the Dinosaur Research Center in Woodland Park. There will be Native American art, dancing, food, and music. There will also be someone there from the Rocky Mountain Wildlife Foundation with wolves!
